A Rare Ammonite with a Huge Bubble Fluid Inclusion!

Here is a rare ammonite with its unusual 1.3cm large bubble fluid inclusion within its calcite: a fascinating fossil specimen!

In addition to the scientific value of this fluid inclusion, the unique circumstances of its formation in Mahajanga area, in the North-West coast of Madagascar, confer a great value on this natural ammonite fossil specimen.

The fluid inclusions are commonly described as microscopic bubbles of liquid or gas within crystals. The 1.3cm approximatively) in diameter of our ammonite calcite bubble is uncommon. It is easily visible to the naked eye.

The ammonite that bears this notable fluid inclusion is wholly polished. It weighs around 4.5kg (10lb) and measures approximatively 27cm x 23cm x 6cm.
